Protecting your space is more than just about physical boundaries, it’s about safeguarding your emotional and spiritual well-being too. The relationships you build, the people you surround your self with, all these things we might not deem important, they have a big impact on us. Protecting your space helps you create a healthy environment that nurtures your growth and peace.

In today’s world, your connection with God plays a very crucial role in maintaining a peaceful and fulfilled life. From choosing the right few people to staying grounded on God’s word, to taking care of your body, these are all important parts we play in ensuring peace in our lives. God promised us peace, but in order for us to have the peace He gives, we have to do things right.

Connect with God

Your relationship with God is your anchor, it’s the cheat code to having a peaceful life. the peace that comes with knowing God and having a real relationship with Him is unbelievable. God gives a peace that surpasses all human understanding. All He wants is for you to relate with Him, meditate on His word and do what He says do. Phillipians 4:6-7 mentions that we should “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” This simply states that we must emphasise the significance of prayer, gratitude, and trust in God to bring peace into our lives.

Surrounding yourself with the right people who encourage and uplift you

This is extremely important. having a whole bunch of people you call friends that you cannot count on when things take a crazy turn is dumb (mind my language). This is also one of the reasons why you have to have a strong relationship with God because He always eats when it comes to sending you the right people. I have also struggled with setting high boundaries in friendships, I cut a lot of people off immediately I see that they are not of great value to me, they may not understand it but girl or guy, when you cut them off, it’s like lifting off a heavy burden off your shoulders. Proverbs advices in one of its chapters that those who walk with the wise will be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. This is how much of importance the company you keep is. You have to be conscious of the kind of people in your corner.

Building a community that encourages and supports.

A community that supports not just you but people that come in contact with you is equally important as choosing your friends and all that. The Bible in Matthew 5:9 instructs us to be peace makers. It starts with each person making an effort to promote harmony and understanding. By being kind, respectful, and supportive to one another, we can create a positive and safe environment for everyone. It's all about spreading love and positivity to make the world a better place.

Prioritise Self care

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Don’t you realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” Prioritise self care, take good care of your body. When you do so, you are able to mange your emotions and interact positively with others. When we are at peace with ourselves, it radiates outward, creating a harmonious environment within our community.

Remember, taking care of yourself is not selfish; it's necessary for your overall well-being and contributes to a more peaceful mindset.

Protecting your space means actively choosing to be around positive people, staying connected with God, and taking care of yourself. This way, you can enjoy a life full of peace and purpose.
